A confession of an addict cloth diaper mama.

Yes, I am a cloth diaper addict and nearly turned into a hardcore, but when it's come to practically during my pregnancy,( I was having a major morning sickness for the first trimester )I started to buy Huggies diapers again.

Then I started again to use cloth diaper on Ava during my 2nd trimester and after the last months of  the 3rd trimester, I opt to use dispos again until these days.

Well it doesn't actually stop me on buying cloth diapers during the whole 9 months.haha. I can't resist to get a few discounted cloth diapers, joining a group buy(which made it cheaper ) . I also received a few diapers from some talented mamas for my baby shower gifts!Thanks to Lisa, Annie and Maybel:)). 

So what actually I wanted to put down here is.. how I felt when I saw one Huggies went inside the dustbin after only an hour use.

I can't actually predict when would Ava going to pass motion so every time I felt the diaper was long enough on her bottom, I would change it even she hasn't poop yet. Then after the next 30 mins, she'd came to me and said,
"Potty!"

"Arghhh... but you actually still got 1 to 2 more hours wearing those!"

And there you go, 30 minutes of used Huggies went down to the dustbin..looking wasted.(Yet I am still using disposable for the time being)

Whereas for a cloth diaper, you can re-use it over and over again since it can be wash just like our daily clothes and definitely cloth diaper saved your monthly budget.

(Well,this is only work if you are the frugal cloth diaper mama, 20 pieces of cloth diapers are enough for a kid and just add extra 10 or 20 pieces when you are having 2 kids plus an everyday washing routine)

My verdict,

I still prefer to use cloth diaper for my kids and would be starting all over again after my delivery.And finger crossed by next year Ava would be completely fully potty trained. 

I am not judging those who refused to cloth diaper their bubs since this is an open preference, just like when a mama insist not to breastfeed...it's all about choosing your own option for what is comfortable for you. I believe every mama knows what's the best for their child upbringing.

So here's a few of the newly stash cloth diapers for our newborn.

1st Row : AI2 One Size cloth diaper from Maybel's Closet, AI2 one size Chelory, Super Soaker fitted one size, BRSB fitted one size and a Heartland AI2 one size.

2nd Row : 3 pieces of minky Eli Monster fitted in newborn size.

and the 3rd row: Two crochet wool soakers which I made them myself(I felt proud of them!)

All Night Wool Soaker for 0-3 months.

Yes I was feeling tired and restless this whole week but that doesn't stop me to keep on doing for my latest project.

An All Night Wool soaker which I finished it up for the 1 whole week.

 Rise : 15"

Waist :Stretch up to 14.5"-16"

Hips :16"-18"

Thighs : 8"-10"

 This is the comparison between Snuggle Pants felted wool shorty in medium size.

This wool should fit for 0 to 3months.

Workmanship?:Not so perfect, need lots of lots of practicing.

 The soaker is made up from 100percent Merino wool which my friend found it at one of the shop at my old hometown Sandakan.She helped me to buy these and sent them instantly to me. Thanks again Lynn!!:)

Ava B'day Present from Papa and Mama

I think it's not too late to give our birthday present to Ava(more like from the mama shopping spree:P, Flo already gave her another Duplo Lego anyway).

AI2, Medium size and Side Snapping.

Gosh I love embroidery diaper since the print would not fade away  and will be lasting!

Peechee comes in various style of embroideries but I only came up with this idea for custom.Too bad during the process of ordering for the dipes I was still in the morning sickness mode so I cannot spent long time in front of the computer.Still, this dipe is gorgeous even the style slightly quiet simple. 

My 1st Handmade Soaker Wool Pants.

I am not actually quiet satisfied on the way it turns out to be esp at the back hip area( I should just continue to work on the single crochet until reached at the ribbing stitch(waist area)), but this is only my first trial so, I should less expecting it to be perfect.

Still got lots of improvement to be done here and there.

The rise is about 17", this should fit good for below 5 months old baby.

I am going to lanolize this pants and put it on a test with a wet fitted diaper inside,and will see if it will be well functioning or not.

New WAHM Cloth Diaper

I happened to get a chance to try out a newly made cloth diaper trial  from Joanne, the owner of everythingbabything.com a few months back but only today I managed to write the full review.

The diaper design is a fitted pocket diaper means there is no waterproof barrier(fitted).The insert can either be place inside the pocket or lay just outside it.The advantage with this kind of design, you can put any kind of insert inside the pocket including microfiber insert(which cannot be touch directly at baby's bum bum).

The diaper itself comes with 4 layers on each of the soaker(cotton) which has 8 layers when combine both of the soaker.

It is uncased on the gusset to give comfort feel to baby. It also has two pocket opening for easy insertion for the soaker.Like what Joanne said,"Put on one side and pull it on the opposite side".

The soaker was design to be similar like the bumwear microfiber insert which makes it faster to dry.( My favorite type of insert)

This is how it looks like when the two soaker/inserts combine together.

Outer made with cotton knit and inside made from suede cloth which touch the baby's bottom.
The diaper trial only comes in Size 2.

Things which can be improved.

1.The side snapping can be done with two buttons.

2.The stitching can be improve as well too.

Other than those two, I would say this diaper has a good absorbency and it is so adorable. I put this diaper on Ava after the 2nd wash and it lasted for 2 in a half hour without cover!The soaker need to be put nicely otherwise it would turn a little bit bulky on baby's bottom.

I still have many more reviews on Malaysian WAHM made diapers and going to post out soon and still many more diapers from Malaysian mom made diapers I haven't try yet and planning to get them in the future to comes.:). Stay tune!!

Another Monday

How am I feeling today?
Not good..I've been procrastination most of the tasks this morning, spending more time on wondering "What if I...???
Totally not in a motivate mode at all..:(.

Anyways, hours went by and I feel much better.

Hubby made us an energy booster which deliciously yummy and refreshing.

Mixes of red and green apples, orange, grapes and cucumber(no sugar added) ends up it taste like a watermelon juice!

And this was our lunch for today. 

Anchovies mix with cabbage..Ava's favorite dish.

Diaper change Drama...

Putting a diaper to Ava on preparation for night time usually is a bit tricky. 

After putting the fitted diaper on her, she would jumped from the bed and ran around the house half naked.

 

After awhile we managed to catch her and put on the wool cover then she jumped out again and running as fast as she could!!!! 

After nearly half an hour chasing her around,

Fitted -checked !

Wool -checked!

Jumpsuit -checked! 

At last she's completed!!

First time mommy tied her hair up..

I haven't got chances to fold Ava's diapers for 3 days since I got stuck with other commitment..even the other laundry also still laying flat in the laundry storage(sigh).....

The Unexpected Fluffy Mail

Flo came home with a white parcel within his elbow. My first thought that those must be his work documents but not until he asked me.
"I thought no more buying any diapers?"
Me,curious looking at the parcel,

"Huh??Those are for me?" 

He handed me the envelope and I was surprised that it sent out quiet early than I expected to be and I haven't plan any good excuses to inform Flo that there would be a parcel delivers  thru his office address by the next two weeks to come.(This parcel comes from the States and I thought it would be better sending it via hubby's address for safety reason.)
I was so excited till almost forgot that Flo still waiting for my reply.
"Err..this is not diapers, they are wools!"
"Oh yeah?But they're still the same lah," Flo rolled his eyes.
"Oh it's not the same, these were custom made specifically meant for night time cover , each of these has an extra absorbent layers and I got them on SALE!" and that's a magic word!!A SALE......
After awhile he seemed to get in my shoes and making remarks on how soft the Merino wool felt.
"They are pretty well made and with such prices, these are good..." said Flo, at last.
When Flo was about to change different topic in our conversation, he caught a glimpse of a yellow slip on top of the computer table.
" Are you expecting another mail again to arrive ?"
Oh no...why why I put it there....
"Oh that, the slip has been in our mailbox since last week during our trip to Labuan, I just called them for a re-attempt delivery", I said pretending to be cool.
"Wow..I bet the postman already knows you very well,"
Well...at least he made a joke.

I ordered these along with another cool mama. 

A total Merino Capri and a longies.With a star and a flower applique.

Inside, placed another extra layers of wool for extra coverage .
